Hidden by the mysteries

of movement too fast

she moves sipping bee balm

in bright red blooms

Sometimes the hibiscus

calls her name

in tempting red dresses

yet the catchfly captivates

In seconds she devours

sweet, ambrosial nectar

pausing only a moment

lingering over her delicious meal

And we take in her form

her fleeting beauty

reminding us of summer pleasure

darting across the balmy air

until cold winds

blow her south.

Written for the daily prompt before the day ends.  The picture at the head is one by Tricia Calvert.  I promised her poems for her art! See her Instagram pictures!
